About Me

MSc Psychology

Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP/MBACP)

I am clinically trained in supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and adolescents. I am DBS-checked, fully insured, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I have a particular specialism in art therapy and therapeutic play therapy, which allow children and young people to express feelings that may be difficult to put into words. Through creative and play-based approaches, I provide a safe and gentle space where emotions can be explored at the child’s own pace.

I support families of all nationalities and cultural backgrounds, including Japanese families living in the UK. Living abroad or navigating different cultural expectations can bring unique challenges — such as language barriers, identity questions, isolation, and differences in educational or parenting systems. I offer a culturally sensitive and compassionate space where both children and parents feel understood, respected, and supported.

I have extensive experience working with children and young people aged 4-18 in primary and secondary schools in North London, supporting a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. My areas of interest include early intervention, pre-school development, attachment, parenting support, and helping families adjust to life in the UK.

As a parent myself, I deeply understand the emotional complexities of raising children. I aim to work collaboratively with families, valuing each family’s pace, culture, and strengths.

Specializing in Anxiety Treatment, Depression and Relationship therapy

Anxiety

Children may experience various forms of anxiety as they grow. School, friendships, and adjusting to new environments can sometimes become overwhelming, even from small triggers.
In our counseling sessions, we provide a safe and supportive space where children can express their feelings freely. Through play and conversation, we gently explore the sources of their anxiety and help them build confidence and a sense of “I can handle this” over time.

Depression

Changes such as low energy, loss of interest in activities they once enjoyed, or frequent tiredness can be signs of emotional distress in children.
Rather than forcing positivity, we work at the child’s own pace, helping them process their feelings within a safe and trusting relationship. We support the gradual development of self-esteem and help them regain a more positive outlook.

Trauma
Relationships

Experiences such as accidents, bullying, major life changes, or other distressing events can have a lasting impact on a child’s emotional well-being. Reactions like sudden anxiety, fear, anger, or sleep difficulties may be natural responses to trauma.

In counseling, we provide a safe and supportive environment where children can express their feelings at their own pace. Through play and gentle conversation, we help them gradually regain a sense of safety and support their healing process.

Relationships—whether with friends or family—are a central part of a child’s development. Difficulties such as conflicts, communication challenges, or family concerns can be stressful.
In counseling, children learn how to express their feelings and understand others more effectively, helping them build healthier relationships. When appropriate, we also work with parents to support the child both at home and at school.
