My Approach
My work is grounded in Art Therapy and Therapeutic Play Therapy
approaches that honor the natural ways children (and even adults) express, process, and heal.
In many situations, words are not enough. Feelings can be confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to explain. Through creative expression and play, clients are able to communicate safely and authentically, without pressure to “find the right words.”
Art Therapy
Art therapy invites clients to use drawing, painting, sculpting, and other creative processes as a way to explore emotions and experiences. The focus is not on artistic skill or creating something “beautiful.” Instead, the process itself becomes a gentle pathway to self-understanding and emotional release.
Through art-making, clients can:
• Express feelings that may be hard to verbalize
• Build self-awareness and emotional regulation
• Strengthen self-esteem and confidence
• Process difficult experiences at their own pace
The creative process offers both distance and safety, allowing deep emotions to surface in a supported and contained way.
Therapeutic Play Therapy
Play is a child’s natural language. In therapeutic play, toys, stories, movement, and imagination become tools for communication and healing.
In a carefully prepared and safe environment, children can:
• Explore their inner world
• Rehearse new coping strategies
• Work through fears and anxieties
• Develop emotional resilience
Rather than directing the child, I follow their lead with warmth, attunement, and respect. This creates a relationship built on trust, where growth can unfold naturally.
My Philosophy
I believe healing happens in relationship. By offering a calm, non-judgmental, and accepting space, I support each client’s unique journey. Creativity and play are not simply techniques—they are powerful, developmentally appropriate pathways toward integration, resilience, and well-being.
